👩🍳 Instructions
1
PREPARE BROWNIE BATTER: In a medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, stir in 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/4 cup light brown sugar until smooth. Whisk in 2 eggs one at a time, then vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour, and 1/4 tsp salt. Add dry ingredients to wet, mix until just combined. Fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Set aside.
2
PREPARE COOKIE DOUGH: In a large bowl, cream 1/2 cup softened butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1/4 cup light brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes). Beat in 1 egg and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 tsp salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing on low until just combined. Stir in 3/4 cup chocolate chips.
3
ASSEMBLE: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop 1.5-2 tablespoon mounds of cookie dough onto the sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Dollop about 1 tablespoon of brownie batter on top of each cookie dough mound. Gently swirl if desired.
4
BAKE: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until cookie edges are golden and brownie tops are set but slightly gooey in the center. Do not overbake. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
